Cheesy Chia Crackers.
If your kids are going crackers why not have a crack at these easy crackers. Get them busy in the kitchen helping make these simple cheesy snacks.
180g spelt flour
100g unsalted butter (room temperature and cut into small cubes) 150g grated cheese (we use 100g cheddar and 50g Parmesan)
3 tablespoons chia seeds
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
Place the flour in a large bowl and add the butter. Using your fingertips rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Add the cheeses and chia seeds and mix well.
Using a tablespoon at a time, add the water to the mixture until a firm dough forms (about 3 tablespoons), bringing it together with your hands.
Roll the dough out on a bench (1/2 cm thick) and cut into shapes, this may require a light dusting of flour to prevent sticking. Place onto the prepared trays and bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
